Global Health Policy and Health Systems Research
Three GHPHSR programmes awarded
20 december 2011
This week, three research programmes have been awarded funding in the second call of the Global Health Policy and Health Systems Research (GHPHSR) programme. The call gave priority to research that demonstrates how health policy and health systems can be improved, and how this can contribute to better health, in particular to reducing maternal mortality and improving maternal health, including enhancing equitable access to reproductive health services. The proposals that have been awarded with a grant are:
- ‘Mainstreaming a health systems approach to delivery of maternal health services: transdisciplinary research in Rwanda and South Africa’
- ‘Improving maternal health services through political accountability mechanisms in Burundi and DR Congo’
- ‘Addressing social, cultural and historical factors limiting the contribution of medical laboratory services to antenatal care in Mali (SociaLab)’
Most likely, these research coalitions will be able to start at the beginning of 2012.
