The War on Weeds at Research for Global Development

WOTRO’s new website ‘Research for Global Development’ now features a number of new examples of pioneering research into global development. Read, for instance, the interview with economist Tausi Kida. Her research on healthcare liberalization and urban poverty in Tanzania has already led the Tanzanian government to introduce important measures to improve the situation. Or watch Dutch scientist Jonne Rodenburg talk about his work at the Africa Rice Centre, where he is fighting a war on weeds. These weeds represent a huge threat to rice production and food security in Africa.

With ‘Research for Global Development’ WOTRO aims to show the crucial role that research plays in addressing global issues such as food security, climate change and poverty. You can stay updated by subscribing to the newsletter, and you can also follow WOTRO on Twitter and Facebook.
