Co-operation China - National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC)

The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) are long-term partners in international research cooperation. In 2009, NWO and NSFC decided to expand their existing agreement focusing on exchange of researchers with an additional component focusing on funding joint research projects.

The 2012 Call for Proposals addresses the research topic 'The Application of Operations Research in Urban Transport'.

Who can apply

Research teams of Dutch and Chinese researchers, with a senior Principal Investigator on both the Dutch side and the Chinese side. In line with the rules for Chinese applicants, Dutch scientists may be involved with one application only.

What can be applied for

Joint Research Projects with a duration of 3 to 4 years.

When can be applied

• Closing date for submitting proposals was 25 April 2012, 11:00 hrs.

Procedure

Applications can only be submitted electronically via NWO's Iris system. The forms can
be downloaded below and must be submitted electronically. More information about the

Committees

There is one joint Sino-Dutch Assessment Committee, consisting of scientific experts
from China and The Netherlands.

Budget

A budget of up to M€ 1,9 is available for the 2012 Call on the Dutch side. This budget
covers funding for up to eight joint projects. NSFC will provide a fund of up to 800,000
RMB for each approved project.
