CoCooN aims to contribute to social change by providing contributions to evidencebased policy development and practice in the field of Conflict and Cooperation over Natural resources in developing countries. By funding knowledge, research and innovation projects, CoCooN supports local initiatives from the South to partner with international scientists and non-scientists to look for opportunities and new approaches for conflict resolution and cooperation regarding natural resources.

The Global Health Policy and Health Systems research programme (GHPHS) is a joint initiative of WOTRO Science for Global Development, the Netherlands Platform for Global Health Policy and Health Systems Research and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health, Welfare and Sport. GHPHS will fund excellent health policy and health systems research. It will give priority to research that demonstrates how health systems can be improved, and how improved health systems can contribute to reaching the Millennium Development Goals.

PopDev aims to contribute to knowledge about the effects of population dynamics and reproductive health on different aspects of economic and social development. Through funding excellent research information should become available that will strengthen the evidence base for policy and practice on how population and reproductive health (P/RH) affect poverty and how investments in P/RH might contribute to reducing poverty and fostering economic development and equity.
