TANAP Final Meeting

26 January 2009

On Thursday February 5, the programme ‘Towards a New Age of Partnership’ (TANAP), will organize its final meeting in the historical museum of The Hague (Haags Historisch Museum). You are kindly invited to attend this meeting.

TANAP was a partnership between Leiden University and the National Archives of the Netherlands (Nationaal Archief) and had two goals. The scientific programme offered a training and research programme for young historians in Asia, South Africa and the Netherlands. This part was financed by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) and Leiden University. The archival activities in the TANAP programme were directed at the preservation, accessibility and linking of the Archives of the Dutch East India Company (VOC). These activities were financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. NWO managed the programme.

At the meeting Prof. L. Blussé (Leiden University) and Dr P. Koenders (National Archives of the Netherlands) will present the main results of the TANAP programme. Subsequently drinks and snacks will be offered.

If you wish to attend this meeting, we kindly ask you to register before Thursday January 29, 2009. Please send an email to Ruud Strijp, email: strijp@nwo.nl.

The Haags Historisch Museum is located at Korte Vijverberg 7, The Hague.
