ERC Starting Independent Research Grant

The European Research Council (ERC) announced its first call for proposals for the ERC Starting Independent Research Grants. These grants aim to support young, up-and-coming researchers who are about to establish or consolidate an independent research team or to start conducting independent research in Europe. The scheme targets young researchers who have the proven potential of becoming independent research leaders. The budget for the first round is EUR 289,500,000. In sum, some 250 Starting Grants will be granted in the first call. Deadline for submission is 25 April 2007, 17:00 hrs, Brussels local time. For more information please consult the ERC website.
