Call for Applications for the 2007 UNESCO-L’ORÉAL Fellowships

Young women researchers in the Life Sciences have until 1 September 2006 to apply for the 2007 UNESCO-L’ORÉAL ‘For Women in Science’ Fellowships.

These annual international Fellowships of $40,000 each are open to women under 35 who are pursuing research projects with a focus on natural and lifes sciences at the doctorate or post-doctorate level, at accredited institutions around the world.

The L’ORÉAL-UNESCO For Women in Science partnership is an initiative of the private sector and an intergovernmental institution, working together to recognize the achievements of women scientists, promote scientific vocations, and raise the profile of women in science globally.

Since the program’s creation in 1998, 111 women scientists from 59 countries have been recognized for their excellence in research and received encouragement to pursue their careers.
