Advanced Chemical Technologies for Sustainability

ACTS is a public private partnership between Dutch government, universities, research institutes and industry in the field of sustainable chemical technologies. Its mission is to initiate and support the development of innovative technologies for the sustainable production of materials and energy carriers.

ACTS realises this mission by establishing and coordinating challenging public private research programmes in accordance with the business plan of the Regiegroep Chemie. These programmes consist of a coherent cluster of projects, executed by universities and research institutes in close cooperation with industrial partners.

ACTS covers five research programmes:

B-Basic BioBased Sustainable Industrial Chemistry
IBOS Integration of Biosynthesis and Organic Synthesis
PoaC Process on a Chip
Sustainable Hydrogen Sustainable Hydrogen

As of 1 January 2012 the Executuve Board of ACTS and the Gebiedsbestuur Chemische Wetenschappen will be merged.

TASC

Early 2010, ACTS set out the contours of a new research programme: the Technology Areas for Sustainable Chemistry (TASC) innovation programme. The newly formulated subjects are closely matched to the objectives of the Regiegroep Chemie. The programme has a budget of around 37 million euro. Government funding has been requested from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and NWO for half of this amount. End of June 2011, ACTS received the funding letter for the first round of the programme.
