Awarded Capacity Development grants

For the third subsidy round of 2005, the WOTRO Board received 15 eligible proposals. As recommended by the Capacity Development grants committee, the board decided to award ten grants.
Partnership grants:
- Research capacity building for sustainable urban transport development in The Philippines
- Collaboration for research capacity development in water resources in Nigeria
- Joint Research on thermal oil recovery in the Netherlands and Brazil
- Joint development and application of cleaner bio-fuels in India and the Netherlands
- Network Workshop on Social Protection Initiatives
Dissemination grants:
- Reducing heat stress of pigs in the tropics
- Technography - a concept for a sensitised study of medical technology transfer to developing countries
Travel grants:
- Research visit to work on research topics of microfinance, resource use, risk and poverty reduction
- Research visit to prepare a manuscript entitled ‘Drinking with the Devil. Plantation community and world capitalism in Java, 1870s - 2000s’
- Travel grant to undertake advanced training in modelling agricultural systems at Wageningen University, the Netherlands
