Awarded subsidies NACCAP programme

NACCAP is the Netherlands-African partnership for capacity development and clinical interventions against poverty-related diseases. NACCAP´s first call for clinical research and capacity strengthening programmes resulted in three awarded programmes.

The call for pre-proposals resulted in 15 applications. Six researchers were invited to elaborate their pre-proposal into a full proposal during a workshop in Africa. Five full proposals were received. Upon independent international peer review, the NACCAP Programme Committee advised the NACCAP Steering Committee to award the two highest ranked proposals and to ask the applicants of the third ranked proposal to downsize their proposal. The NACCAP Steering Committee decided accordingly. Total budget involved: ± 9M€.
